Not everyone likes to put themselves in front of a camera though
If I was the CEO of bloggers, I would brainstorm my thinking the bloggers is very lacking. YouTube is way better then mine. I would do something really fast, I would do sound talk. You don't have to read the story you just have to listen to it. I would do like a calm sound talk a drama sound talk horror sound talk romantic sound talk. It just like you are watching a movie but I'm not the CEO I'm a regular lady just doing my thing.
I like your haircut techlead
hey TechLead, the videos I enjoy more from you is when you talk about industry status, like "apps are dead and why" etc, I think would be nice if you make an video about what you think are the future/non saturated industries
I wouldn't mind seeing some unpopular websites. Maybe even some amateur sci-fi blogs.
Apps are not dead! Lol. It depends on your application. If you're trying to be like something that already exists then you are dead even before you write your first line of code.
3:16 "It is a False Sense of Productivity!" – that is so, so true
I still look at images like those ,its so I'll think of something inspiring.
This is a blog lol.an awesome blog.
This is way too long. This could have been said in 3 minutes. Is it the new 8 minutes limit?
So you go on internet, read some stuff that seems interesting then make a vidéo where you give your opinion ?
Mr TechLead, how sure are you about websites being in trend again? I've been trying hard to transition from responsive web design to app UI/UX…. because where I'm living nobody is hiring web designers anymore….am I making a huge mistake? Appreciate your advice thanks!
blog culture was dead long time ago… it was only popular because videos weren't easy to make and the internet used to be slow
video is the best medium…even 50 years later people will still be watching videos…there is no better medium
yeah but what about Cory Doctorow
You make some interesting points here, but I think it's a strange contrast to your views on people who want to become software engineers because it's the rising thing. In the case of blogs, you are saying people should follow the trends, and steer clear, but in the case of learning to code, you're saying that people should follow their passion.
I think it's quite reasonable to pursue blogging, but as is the case with learning to code, you should know what your objectives are and manage your expectations thusly.
This quarantine I … Started a photography page on insta, started to write on Medium and also published my first Android app .. and then came across this video 💔
I'm wondering what do you think about Facebook Groups vs Open Source Forums. It's great that we there are groups for every product, activity or cause out there on Facebook these days, however the feed structure is quite limiting compared to traditional structured online forums.
reason why twitter is here cuz people don't write /read any more.
Maybe that's good timing and you read it: can you make a video on how you protect yourself against the virus? Did you get the apple flavored ivermectin already? 🙂
This is the real techlead which got lost in the main channel
java is on top for 20 years and it's the future
Lemme guess, you're talking about Joma?
Blogs are dead — with one exception: corporate blogs, which are rising on the idea of "getting brands closer to customers, being more personal a brand"
The thing i learned about this video is that your dream or passion must be flexible.
Ironically the inspiration for this video was….reading a blog.
Could not agree more!
How about bringing back what the internet was cherished for…anonymity without any records. #EdwardSnowden
tinder but with video, yeah thats something.
you would not get cat fish easly.
Blogs aren't dead.
They just moved to Medium.
your advice is going to hurt some people ( i have a drawer full of beanie babies btw)
I like articles. I noticed some people aren’t good at public speaking but when it comes to putting words on the screen, the message is much clearer.
I agree. Blogging is DEAD
Man I thought DP Review was going to be something way different.
Hi Patrick, great content! What do you think about blogging as an auxiliary platform to video production?
For example I've been thinking to start a youtube channel with instructional content and a side blog to go deeper on the specific topics I'd present on each video (and allow people to have technical discussions / suggestions there)
I still feel like that for deep technical subjects like programming, a written form of content is better digestible to help the learner get into the minutiae of the subject.
Wouldn't you say it's a good use case for a blog? What's your thought on it?
A blog focusing on some niche industry need not be a bad idea. Especially one that acts more as a reference site.
I think you wrong on this one, its what gone be and already is most profitable, EXCLUSIVE CURATED CONTENT is worth more than JUNK DIRECTORIES and the fact you find xclusive content insead of what everybody can in google is value in itself because its rare, if everyone have yt channel than its worth nothing, so option for next 10 years is not have a blog/channel/video but have BEST, not unique but high quality. Plus look how you talking about small percentages of ppl, WP have 68% of internet ARE WE IN THE SAME REALITY HERE???? AGAIN 68% OF INTERNET IS ONE !!!BLOGGING!!! PLATFORM so no blogging isnt dead its better than ever for anyone who provides value
tinder is going to come out with video chat soon i heard
the idea of a static text/image site isnt as expired imo. Information websites shouldnt be loaded with mbs of scripts and other service side processing. whats the point? look at the buffets wesbite. nice and clean and functional .the frameworks for web building are slow as hell. I think people appreciate some of the old websites and i can see it coming back in some form.
Gonna have to disagree with this one Patrick.
The whole premise that it has to be 'succesful' is flawed. Who cares if there's "opportunity there", or where the "next big trend" is? sThis isn't about building a blogging platform to monetize. Blogging could be just about sharing your thoughts and ideas with others. You could talk about a niche field you have experience in. Maybe a guy who loves to build his own keyboards. Or someone talking about how he built his own shower, or repaired his old British sportscar, or built an observatory in his backyard. These are all blogs I've read, and loved. Blogging, to me, represents the very human urge to share what you've learned.
I 100% agree here. I started Youtube in October. I really started heavy at the end of March when I started working from home. I grew from 0 to about 580 subs as of right now. Everyone is online right now. Timing truly means a lot
I think people are too lazy to read.
