An overview of the 6 website builders I recommend: Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow, Carrd, Weebly and Wix. Watch until the end to see my pricing comparison.
My work is supported by affiliate commissions— so I may earn a commission from the links in the video description.
Squarespace (0:41) — The best all around website builder— great themes, best-in-class features and an intuitive UI. What I’d recommend for most small websites.
Shopify (2:57) — The best ecommerce builder. If you’re building a pure ecommerce website, I highly recommend Shopify.
Webflow (6:22) — The big innovation with Webflow is their Designer tool. It’s the first tool to provide the flexibility of front-end coding without requiring you to actually code.
Carrd (9:32) — The best way to make one page websites. Plus it’s much, much cheaper than the other website builders on this list.
Weebly (10:38) — Weebly is what I recommend to anyone who doesn’t feel tech savvy. It’s just really easy to use. Everything feels simple and straightforward.
Wix (12:13) — The most important difference between Wix and other website builders is that it’s a blank canvas editor.
Pricing Comparison (14:00) — A breakdown of the cheapest plans for each website builder for one year + a domain name. Note: I do not count paid plans that also include an advertisement on your website— they’re just designed to get you to upgrade to a higher priced plan!
Remember: These are not the only website builders you can choose from. In fact you’ll find many, many more at Site Builder Report (https://www.sitebuilderreport.com/best-website-builder). But these are the 6 best and I highly recommend each of them.
Thanks for watching!
Dude!! The most comprehensive video I seen on any topic. Sooo gooood 👍(.) And just because you can always ask for one more thing hahaha, I think it would be great to actually compare in the future specific points across each and one of them. For example e-commerce, how do they compare each from one another, same as for the different things, like blogging, podcast, portfolio, cms and other things. But seriously, you are so dang good at comprehensive videos.
Hey what do you recommend I’m a newbie and I’ll be selling handmade beauty products wat would you suggest ??
So far, I've tried everything but Carrd and Webflow, so far.
Great vid, however would have liked to hear about membership subscriptions. Subscribed!
None of your recommendations will work for me. I need an offline web page maker that will let me drag and drop if needed text, images, and video links on the page. I don't need fancy templates or online hosting. I will host this through my windows pc because it's only to share a few recipes with family and friends. I need Very basic. Is there anything out there like that for free?
What about Editor X ?
A buddy of mine recommended cybix.co who charges $9.95 for everything… sort of reminded of wix. Wonder if they are any better? Have you reviewed them yet?
Excellent video. Was incredibly helpful
Wix sucks
Can I buy a domain name on a separate website and then build it on a builder website?
I've mainly used squarespace & Site123 , Site123 only because it allows me to upload files on their form submission, now if you know of any other that does that I would love to know, I know there are 3rd party form builders you can embed into squarespace, but would love just a one stop shop, much thanks
The Bob Ross of web site reviews, thank you, sir, and appreciation of the transitions.
Got ya subscription from me and I’ll be offering you a job mid 2021
One very important thing for a lots of web designers is how much the webhosting costs… I would love to use webflow but my clients are not willing to pay 20$ per moth for hosting on webflow when there are companies that provide very solid webhosting for 20$ per year.
what is your recommendations for a "micro-job" website builder please ?
Hello Steve,
Can you please review Yo!Kart (www.yo-kart.com) by FATbit Technologies.
I tried Squarespace and found I couldn't simplify my ideas enough to fit their cookie cutter (lack of) flexibility that they actually thought I'd wind up paying for. Theirs was the was the second site I wound up needing to begin an account just to discover their design limitations. The hunt goes on.
whats ur band called?
To become a front-end programmer, do one need to learn these websites builders or website softwares HTML5, CSS and JavaScript!!!!? I got confused!
They have nothing for IT
Thank you very informative for beginners!
If I build my website with one of these Website Builders is it possible to copy the code and host it with Github pages instead?
your presentation is amazing. thank you for such a calm and confident and educational video.
Insightful, thank you.
wow, thank you!
Incredible! Webflow it is, thanks a ton!
What about Divi? Isn't Divi a good option?
I stumbled upon a new website build called Zyro. Is it any good?
Loved your video
Thank you. Great to watch an unbiased review. Every time you read a review on-line it seems someone is promoting one over all the others. I have a Weebly site but want to set up two more (then I'll cancel the first one when it renews). Seems Weebly is as good as any for what I need (photography). I've had comments from people that they like the site and that's all you need really; a site that people like visiting. The next trick I have to learn is how to make it more visible.
Wow what an awesome video! Thanks!
Thank You : )
Go damn it I’m using word press and it’s a fucking mess
Hi đź‘‹ @sitebuilderreport, to you which platform would be best to host a hotel reservation website ? Wix seems to be the only one to have that option …
So if I buy shopify website you get commission. Would shopify help me get training while working on the basics of selling and buying? Would you also know coaching or hands on training to help me to succeed with minimal cost
No Duda…. are you joking
Could you please do a video comparing Shopify and BigCommerce? Thank you.
What about divi
Great Video and very helpful but who have Google got in their pocket or in other words which website builder integrates or is seen by Google when looking at SEO which is the most fundamental part of any website.
i bet he does a great peter grifin impression.
The best web hosting website https://www.bluehost.com/track/aditiran/
Please!!! Squarespace is the absolute trash! Every single template they have looks the same! Boring, lacking colour, lacking attraction… and on top, very pricey for how useless it is. Don't even listen to this!
If you want a more interactive website builder, try until you find what you need. It used to be easier back around 2010 I swear! You had more freedom. Like Wysiwyg was a good option.
But today, this basic, so acclaimed themes they provide (WITH A PAID SUBSCRIPTION) ARE HORRIBLE! I am trying to decide to use for the last 3 months! I keep searching while my project is put on hold. The best option is to code it yourself. You would get a better looking one if you are a beginner who can only add colour and a text box than the garbage they sell.
